A Californian girl in Asia.
My name is Martha Wilson and I came from the eternal sun, beach, and fun state of California. I was born in Indonesia and migrated to the States when I was 12 years old. Since then, I've lived in three different continents of America, Europe, and Asia.
I studied European History as an undergrad in Ohio and studied abroad in Austria for a semester. During that time, my love for traveling grew as I hitchhiked my way around Europe, sleeping on trains, sacrificing meals for gelatos, and becoming quite skilled at getting lost and confused.
Upon my return to the States, I graduated college and moved back home with my parents in California. My mom suggested that I pursue a master's degree in TESOL to teach English to ESL students. I guess moms do know best as the degree landed me the opportunity of a lifetime: to go to South Korea to teach as an English professor at a university in Seoul.
In 2013, at age 23, I packed all of my belongings, moved to Seoul, and the rest is history
